A swim opportunity in Clumber Park lake with Bassetlaw Triathlon Club
Clumber Park is a beautiful 3,800 acre grade one
listed parkland in North Nottinghamshire. The Estate was a playground
for the Dukes of Newcastle, who built the lake in 1760's.
Lake access is not allowed for most of the year due to the nature and conservation considerations, however working with the National Trust Sports Development Team we are able to offer this unique swim opportunity. The lake is clear and enjoyable to swim in. It has been tested frequently over the past 2 years, meeting the standards for Excellent bathing water quality. Places are limited so don't miss out on this opportunity to see the park from a different perspective.
This session is suitable for those new to open water or more experienced swimmers. Stay in for the full hour or get out whenever you want. Wetsuit and non wetsuit will be allowed. Unfortunately the session is open to over 18's only as advised by the water safety team.
Water safety will be provided by on water kayaks and powerboat. All swimmers will be checked in and out of the water. Please stay within the designated course boundary and only enter/exit the water at the matted and marshalled point to ensure protection to wildlife and for your own safety.

The entry cost covers the club day membership for insurance purposes and a contribution towards the water safety.
Car parking will be on the event field with a walk of just over 1km to the swim registration and start area. Please be aware there is a triathlon taking place
based in Hardwick village and for the safety of the cyclists there will
be no vehicular access closer to the swim. There will be toilets, a bag drop and a changing area but there are no shower facilities. We suggest you bring a pair of shoes/flipflops to walk to/from the swim entry point. Spectators are welcome and there will be National Trust catering next to the registration tent in Hardwick village.
